Frequently Asked Questions
Travel & Dress
What is the address of the venue?
Colshaw Hall
Stocks Lane, Over Peover
Knutsford, Cheshire
WA16 8TW
When you arrive, follow the private drive past the main house and office until you reach the main car park at the back of the estate. From there, clear signage will guide you and a shuttle will take you directly to the Peel Suite.
Where should I stay?
The Dog at Peover – a cosy pub with rooms just down the road
Eco Pods at Colshaw Hall – on-site, bookable directly with the venue
There are also hotels in Knutsford and Alderley Edge, all within a 15-minute drive. More details can be found on our [Accommodation page].
Are children invited?
As much as we adore them, we have chosen to make this an adults-only celebration.
What should I wear?
Our wedding is not black tie, but we would love for guests to dress up and feel their best.
Cocktail dresses and suits with ties are ideal.
As it’s a winter wedding, all celebrations will take place indoors—so there’s no need to worry about the weather.
Arrival Details
What time should I arrive?
Guests are welcome from 1:00 PM.
The ceremony begins at 2:00 PM, and we kindly ask that everyone is seated by 1:30 PM.
Where should I go when I get there?
Please park in the main car park. A shuttle will be waiting to take you on the short journey to the Peel Suite for a pre-ceremony drink, no walking in the cold required.
I am staying on site. Can I check in before the ceremony?
Yes. Guests staying in The Hall and Courtyard Cottages may check in from 1:00 PM.
Guests staying in the Lodges or Eco Pods may check in from 3:00 PM.
If your room isn’t ready when you arrive, you’re welcome to leave your bags with reception and head straight to the ceremony.
Where should I put my coat?
A cloakroom will be available on arrival. To keep the ceremony room looking its best, we kindly ask that coats are left in the cloakroom rather than on chairs.
During the Day
Can I take photos during the ceremony?
We are having an unplugged ceremony and kindly ask that phones and cameras are put away during this part of the day. Once the ceremony has finished, please feel free to take photos as you wish.
Heading Home
Will there be transport at the end of the night?
At the end of the night, we recommend pre-booking a taxi if you are not staying on site. Please find details of local taxi companies on our [Travel page].
If you are leaving your car overnight, it must be collected by 10:30 AM the following morning in line with Colshaw Hall’s policy.
Gifts
Can I bring a gift?
Please do not feel that you need to—but if you would like to give something, we have set up a small online registry with The Wedding Shop.
All gifts are ordered online and delivered to our home after the wedding, so there is no need to bring anything with you on the day.
